Audio Art Talks

Public Art That Works

Broadcast on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at the Krasl Art Center

From St. Joe's Hot Cars to the Krasl Art Center's Biennial Sculpture Invitational along the river, join us for a discussion on the many opinions surrounding public art. What considerations are made when developing a public art project and how do these projects affect your community? Hear about programs that really work from a panel of professionals who represent nationally recognized public art programming.

Presenters include:

  • Michael Dunbar, Coordinator of the Art in Architecture Program, State of Illinois and nationally recognized sculptor; creator of one of the Krasl's signature sculptures, Allegheny Drift.
  • Susan Ison, Director of Cultural Services, City of Loveland, Colorado, highlighted in The 100 Best Art Towns in America by John Villani.
  • Nathan Mason, Curator of Special Projects for the Public Art Program, City of Chicago home of the famous Cows on Parade.

Susan Wilczak, Krasl Art Center's Director of Exhibitions and Collections until 2007, moderated the discussion.
